FRISCO, N.C. (AP) - Officials have found the body of a 17-year-old who an eyewitness said fell off a boogie board on the North Carolina coast and didn’t resurface.

The Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk reports () the U.S. Coast Guard said the teenager was found off of Frisco Beach near Hatteras on Wednesday after an overnight search by rescue personnel. Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Joshua Canup said the boy’s body was found in the same area where he disappeared.

The boy was reported missing on Tuesday around 1:40 p.m. The body was taken to a local funeral home where it was confirmed that the body was that of the missing boogie boarder.

According to the National Park Service, the teenager was from Thailand. His identity hasn’t been determined.
