OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) - Police believe a driver who struck a pedestrian outside a Walmart in Owings Mills may have been experiencing a medical emergency.

Baltimore County police say the pedestrian was thrown several feet after she was hit around 6:15 p.m. Sunday. She was taken to a trauma center for treatment of serious injuries.

Police say the driver went on to crash into the Walmart building at a high rate of speed. Before hitting the pedestrian and the building, police say the driver hit another car, causing minor damage.
