BRASELTON, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a worker was killed during a weekend motorcycle race at Road Atlanta.

Road Atlanta spokeswoman Kelsi Nilsson tells The Times (https://bit.ly/2rsA3yg ) that 60-year-old Hazel Harrell’s death on Saturday was a terrible tragedy, but didn’t give details on how she was killed. The Hall County Medical Examiner also confirmed her death.

The track about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta was hosting the WERA Cycle Jam on Saturday, when Harrell was killed.

Road Atlanta said in a statement that Harrell has been a member of the “Road Atlanta family” for nearly two decades.

Hall County fire Capt. Zachary Brackett said the agency didn’t send emergency responders to the scene, as Road Atlanta uses private emergency services.
