PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - A developer has revised plans for a Portland, Maine, condominium complex to address concerns about a view being obstructed.
The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2rtc3uy) that Bernie Saulnier’s new four-story design plans comply with height restrictions. Saulnier’s original plan for a six-story complex drew criticism from area residents who worried the building would block a popular view from Fort Summer Park.
There is currently a building moratorium on property near the park, so officials can establish permanent restrictions on the area.
The developer’s proposed 19-unit complex includes parking, access to Fort Summer Park and a green roof.
Portland’s planning and urban development director, Jeff Levine, says Saulnier’s persistence shows how strong the market is in Portland’s Munjoy Hill neighborhood.
