HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of two men who both died in a shooting at an apartment building where they lived.
Bergen County prosecutors say 66-year-old James Bellamy was fatally shot by Arthur Hillman, his 63-year-old downstairs neighbor. They say the shooting in Hackensack on Sunday culminated a long-running dispute between the men.
Police went to the building after receiving reports of gunfire. They soon found Bellamy’s body in the lobby and Hillman’s body was discovered in a car parked in the lot behind the building.
Prosecutors say Bellamy was shot multiple times while Hillman had a single self-inflicted gunshot would.
Authorities say Hillman had repeatedly complained to police about noise coming from Bellamy’s apartment.
