British police arrested 12 people Sunday in connection with the terrorist attack on the London Bridge and nearby market that killed seven people and wounded about 48 others.

The arrests by a counterterrorism unit occurred in the East London neighborhood of Barking, police said in a statement.

Police killed three attackers at the scene Saturday night after they drove a van over pedestrians on the iconic London Bridge and went on a stabbing spree at nearby Borough Market.

Among the injured in the attack were a British Transport Police officer and an off-duty officer, according to police.

Britain’s interior minister said the country’s terrorism threat level will not be raised because police believe there are no perpetrators on the loose.

“We don’t believe there are additional elements” at large,” Home Secretary Amber Rudd.

The rampage in London was the third terrorist attack in Britain in as many months, including a suicide bombing less than two weeks ago at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester that killed 22 people.
