SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Dixie State University in southern Utah is under federal investigation for allegedly mishandling a sexual harassment complaint.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2u8n1F9 ) that the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights said it is focusing on whether the school properly handled a sexual harassment complaint lodged by a former student.

Dixie State officials said in a statement that they are cooperating with the investigation but declined to comment on the case.

Dixie State becomes the fourth Utah college for potential Title IX violations. The University of Utah, Westminster College and Brigham Young University are also under investigation for allegedly mishandling students’ sexual assault complaints.

The university is located St. George.
