Actor Alec Baldwin is promoting his upcoming Spike TV roast with the creation of a hybrid impression of President Donald Trump and George Washington.

The first American president and the man who defeated Lord Cornwallis at the Battle of Yorktown has received a “Saturday Night Live”-inspired rendition for Spike TV’s “One Night Only: Alec Baldwin.” A commercial uploaded to YouTube on Friday shows the world what might happen if the first and 45th commander in chiefs fused.

“I come to you this Independence Day with a special message,” Mr. Baldwin says as his SNL character. “First, you’re welcome, for your amazing freedoms, all this tremendous democracy. I grabbed so much freedom from those British losers — when you’re president they let you do it, OK? I won our nation’s first election fair and square — complete landslide.”

“Some people, like me, are the father of their country,” the actor continues. “Others, like that idiot Alec, play dress-up and make-believe their entire lives. […] Catch ’One Night Only’ with Alec Baldwin. He needs this so badly. His career is a total disaster.”

The event, which took place June 25 at the Apollo Theater, will air July 9 at 9 p.m. EST.
