PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Corporation Commission’s safety division is investigating a train derailment near the state fairgrounds in Phoenix.

Authorities say a Burlington Northern Santa Fe boxcar nearly toppled over around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Nobody was injured, but authorities say McDowell Road between 19th Avenue and 21st Avenue will be closed until early Friday.

The derailment occurred at a railroad crossing and authorities say a boxcar was left hanging off the rails at a near 45-degree angle.

Phoenix police say the cause of the derailment isn’t immediately clear.

The corporation commission’s railroad section inspectors are still at the scene investigating the derailment.
