HONOLULU (AP) - The computer problems disrupting the processing of driver licenses and motor vehicle registrations in Hawaii have been resolved.
Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell said in a statement Thursday workers found a problem that interfered with the computer system’s security software. The software worked once the problem was fixed.
Honolulu partially closed driver licensing centers on Wednesday because of the problem. Other counties suspended or limited processing.
Services were affected statewide because all Hawaii counties use Honolulu’s mainframe computers to process driver license and motor vehicle registration applications.
