Another day, another Chris Paul rumor.
ESPN’s Marc Stein reported late Tuesday the Houston Rockets are becoming “serious threats” to go after Paul once he becomes a free agent Saturday.
Stein reported Rockets star James Harden has expressed interest in wanting to play with Paul. League sources tell Stein that Houston, as well as the San Antonio Spurs, could both convince Paul to leave the Los Angeles Clippers.
Paul is eligible for a max deal in Los Angeles, a five-year contract reportedly over $200 million.
Paul, 32, has never made it past the second round of the playoffs, but has been one of this generation’s greatest point guards.
NBA free agency begins July 1.
