SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - A 22-year-old Syracuse man has died from a gunshot wound.

Syracuse police say George Booker Jr. died early Tuesday afternoon at Upstate University Hospital, not long after he was shot on the city’s crime-ridden south side.

Police say they have no suspects yet.

Booker’s death is the city’s fourth homicide in June and ninth of 2017.

Last year, Syracuse had a record 30 homicides, prompting the formation of a new homicide squad.
