DETROIT (AP) - The Latest on the Detroit fireworks show (all times local):
11:55 p.m.
Police say a woman was shot while attending an annual fireworks show in downtown Detroit.
Assistant Chief Arnold Williams says the shooting occurred just before the fireworks were set to begin Monday night after two males got into an argument. Williams says the woman who was struck in the hip was not involved in the argument. He says her injuries didn’t appear to be life-threatening.
One adult and one juvenile were taken into custody, and authorities say a weapon was recovered.
Williams says officers “immediately” responded to the shooting as members of several law enforcement agencies were patrolling the area during the fireworks display.
Police say another shooting that injured two people in the downtown area was unrelated.

The annual fireworks display over the Detroit River is billed as a salute to the excitement surrounding Detroit’s revitalization.
The theme of Monday night’s Ford Fireworks is “Detroit! Right Now!!”
The show by Zambelli Fireworks is produced by The Parade Co. and will include more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects visible for miles along the river between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. It’s the event’s 59th year. Dearborn-based Ford Motor Co. has been the title sponsor since 2013.
The city of Detroit and the state of Michigan are enforcing access restrictions to Hart Plaza in downtown and Belle Isle in the Detroit River. Bicyclists and pedestrians are welcome on Belle Isle throughout the day, but vehicles won’t be allowed onto the island park until after 2 p.m.
