The District’s Fox affiliate, WTTG, announced that Evan Lambert will be joining the Fox 5 broadcasting family effective July 10, where he will report for both the Fox 5 and Fox 5 Plus news broadcasts.

“Evan breaks stories and is unafraid to ask the tough questions in order to get to the truth, which is why he’s a great addition to the FOX 5 news team,” Fox 5 Vice President and News Director Paul McGonagle said in a statement.

Mr. Lambert graduated from the University of Maryland, and also holds a degree from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism.

“It has always been my dream to return home to the DMV,” Mr. Lambert said in a statement. “As a University of Maryland alumnus, I spent my college years watching the team that I now have the honor of working alongside to cover the stories that matter to the D.C. region.”

Prior to coming to the nation’s capital, Mr. Lambert worked for the Fox-owned station in Tampa Bay, Florida, WTVT, and also as a reporter at WKMG in Orlando. Mr. Lambert’s career began at Capital News Service Television in 2009 and later included a stint at WMBF in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
