ATLANTA (AP) - State labor officials say metro Atlanta’s unemployment rate in May held steady at 4.5 percent - the same rate as the previous month.

The Georgia Department of Labor on Thursday announced the new figure. It’s down from 4.7 percent from this time of year in 2016. The metro Atlanta figures are not seasonally adjusted.

Georgia’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate for May was 4.9 percent. That’s down from 5 percent in April; and 5.3 percent in May 2016.
