NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A home invasion turned deadly after a resident shot some of the would-be burglars who broke in.

The Virginian-Pilot reports that four people allegedly broke into an apartment in Norfolk on Friday. One of them, 17-year-old Kuwan Robinson, was shot and killed. Another, 20-year-old Jamal Bridges, was also shot. But he is expected to survive.

Two other alleged burglars, including a 15-year-old boy, have been arrested and charged with armed burglary, conspiracy and using a gun to commit a felony.

The incident occurred at the Breezy Point Apartments near Norfolk Naval Station.

The alleged burglar’s death is the 16th homicide this year in the city. Suspects have been charged in eight of them.
