SALEM, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man has admitted to raping two women in a cemetery after DNA evidence surfaced linking him to the crimes.

The Eagle-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2tsMhpc ) 43-year-old Angel Rodriguez, of Lawrence, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated rape on June 12. A judge sentenced Rodriguez to eight to 10 years in prison.

Prosecutors say the rapes occurred in 2002 and 2004. Authorities say in each case Rodriguez drove the women to the Bellevue Cemetery after offering them rides. Prosecutors say Rodriguez then raped the women at knifepoint.

Rodriguez was convicted on a felony charge in a separate case which required him to submit a DNA sample. Prosecutors say Rodriguez’s DNA matched database samples from the assaults.
