LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police have shot and killed a man they say lunged at officers with a knife.
Metropolitan Police Department officers used a stun gun before shooting the man Tuesday morning inside an apartment.
Capt. Kelly McMahill says officers repeatedly told the man to drop a knife before at least two of the four officers inside used their stun guns. The prongs did hit him, but she says the stun gun was ineffective.
She said two officers shot the man as he lunged at them. He died at a nearby hospital.
McMahill says officers were investigating a possible domestic-related issue and were searching a room when the man was found hiding underneath a pile of clothes.
This is the ninth police shooting and fourth deadly shooting by Metro this year.
