DENVER (AP) - Denver’s high temperature on Tuesday is one for the record books.
National Weather Service meteorologist Bob Kleyla says the temperature reached 99 degrees, breaking the previous record for the date - 97 degrees - set in 2007.
Denver is on the periphery of a strong ridge of high pressure that is turning up the heat from Arizona to Colorado. Kleyla says it’s possible Denver will set another record Wednesday as temperatures again soar into the high 90s.
Highs near 80 are expected in the city by Friday.
