EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Crews will begin working at night on the Lloyd Expressway in downtown Evansville.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says grinding and sealing of bridge joints are to begin around 7 p.m. Monday between Wabash Avenue and U.S. 41.
Crews will be using two lanes of traffic. Work will begin on the west side of the project’s limits and move east. One lane of traffic will be available to motorists at all times.
Transportation officials say they have worked with local officials and law enforcement to alleviate traffic congestion during festivals, concerts and other events in downtown Evansville.
Arrow boards, messaging signs and enhanced temporary lighting will be among the safety measures warning motorists of the work zones.
Work is expected to last about six weeks.
