SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Mandatory sexual-assault prevention training is being implemented for all students at the University of Utah in an effort to boost safety.
University President David Pershing approved a roughly $390,000 safety plan on Wednesday, which also includes increased lighting on campus, additional support faculty and a comprehensive website. A campus safety task force made the recommendations to university officials.
The prevention training will be through an online program. It will need to be completed before students can enroll in classes.
Newly hired university employees will also have to take the training.
