Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden recently gave a Morgan State University graduate more than she bargained for during a commencement ceremony: an extended kiss.

Brieana Carter earned a degree on May 20, but an Instagram video from the Baltimore event that she shared Wednesday quickly spread on social media. A post tagged “papajoe” featured former President Obama’s right-hand man giving the stunned woman a kiss on the cheek.

“Ahhhh! OK! OK!” Ms. Carter screamed with a smile after the experience, The Hill reported Friday.

“You just came up on my NBC feed and that was just too cool! Your reaction is funny. Congrats on your graduation,” a follower responded.

“Work it Joe!” added another.

Representatives from ABC News and Fox News also contacted Ms. Carter.

Mr. Biden’s attendance at the event helped cap the university’s 150th year in existence. More than 1,200 students received degrees during the proceedings.
