DELPHI, Ind. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly honored two slain northern Indiana girls at the annual congressional baseball game in Washington.

Donnelly posted a video on his Twitter page showing him wearing a Delphi softball uniform. That’s where 14-year-old Liberty German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams disappeared on Feb. 13 while hiking on the Monon High Bridge Trail. Their bodies were found the next day. Investigators are pursuing the case.

Donnelly says it was an honor to wear the jersey to honor the girls who he says “are always in our heart.” The senator says “we promise we’ll do everything we can to find out who did that.”

The Indianapolis Star reports (https://indy.st/2sAUlHj) the girls were softball players who were aiming to play for Delphi Community High School next year.
