ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - The search has resumed for two teens who disappeared while swimming in the ocean in Atlantic City.

Crews waded into the surf and used personal watercraft Friday.

The search began around 6:30 p.m. Thursday when witnesses say they saw rip currents pull two people under water. After two hours, Atlantic City Beach Patrol Chief Steve Downey said the search became a recovery because the teens had already disappeared in the water by the time they arrived on the scene.

The search was suspended around 10:30 p.m.

The Press of Atlantic City reports one of the still-unidentified swimmers was trying to rescue 15-year-old Kalia Spence, but both were pulled under the water by the current.
