DELPHI, Ind. (AP) - The grandmother of one of two northern Indiana girls slain during a hiking trip has posted an emotional Facebook message four months after the unsolved killings.
WXIN-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2rkqte0 ) Becky Patty says in Wednesday’s post that she and her husband are trying to help with the double-murder investigation but they feel helpless as their sense of loss grows.
Their granddaughter, 14-year-old Liberty German, vanished with 13-year-old Abigail Williams on Feb. 13 while hiking a trail near their hometown of Delphi, about 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis. Their bodies were found the next day.
Investigators are still actively pursuing the case, but Patty says little things such as receiving a new insurance card without Libby’s name have intensified her grief.
She writes that her granddaughter is “evaporating in front of me.”
