MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say the human remains found on a Tennessee woman’s property are that of her missing mother.

The Daily Times reports (https://bit.ly/2seQm01) the Blount County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday that the remains of 69-year-old Mary Ruth Walker were found on Karen Walker Headrick’s property.

47-year-old Headrick was arrested June 9 and charged with criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse.

Authorities say deputies found the remains in a burned pile on Headrick’s property. Investigators also found a makeshift grave a short distance away and chemicals used to conceal the decomposing body.

Walker was reported missing May 9.

It’s unclear if Headrick has a lawyer.
