THORNTON, Colo. (AP) - Amazon has announced it will be opening its third Colorado facility in Thornton, which will be the first in the state to use robots.

The Denver Post reports (https://dpo.st/2s6WF5L ) the large internet-based retailer announced the decision on Monday. Amazon plans to hire 1,500 full-time employees. The robots will be used for picking up and packing items.

The facility will handle smaller items such as books, electronics and toys. The company plans to open the facility in August 2018.
