PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is offering free rides on public transportation to weekend Pawtucket Red Sox games from Providence this summer.

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority and the PawSox say the special service is set to begin Saturday. It will be offered for every Saturday and Sunday home game for the rest of the 2017 season.

Officials say the service will have six stops in Providence and will run through August 27, the regular season home finale for the PawSox.

The Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate plays at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, which is about six miles northeast of Providence.
