OPINION:
Sharia law, which is taken from the Muslim holy book of the Koran as well as from the Hadith — traditions and sayings handed down from Muhammad that have become enshrined in Islam as law — is incompatible with the West, with the Constitution and with America.
Stand strong on this point, patriots, Christians and freedom lovers.
The left, Muslim advocacy groups and the secular media will label all those who oppose Sharia on human rights’ grounds as Islamophobes. But letting that devil in the gate is a point from which there is no return.
Sharia drowns freedom. And in America, it’s being pressed under a guise of First Amendment religious rights.
Be not confused.
Allowing Sharia to take religious root in this country would have to eventually crumble the Constitution. The two cannot co-exist.
In 2015, a Saudi Arabian woman, age 19, was sentenced to 200 lashes and six months in jail for the crime — get this — of being raped.
“According to Sharia Law,” Breitbart noted, reporting the news, “a Saudi Arabian woman must be accompanied by a male guardian at all times in public, something the 19-year-old victim did not obey when she went to meet a friend.”
In May 2017, two gay men in Indonesia were sentenced to 85 lashes — for the crime of having homosexual relations.
“Two gay men are to be publicly lashed 85 times each under Sharia law after being filmed by vigilantes in Indonesia,” the Independent noted. “An Islamic court in the province of Aceh passed down its fist sentence for homosexuality on the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, in spite of international appeals to spare the couple.”
In 2014, a 13-year-old girl in Somalia was buried in sand, with only her head sticking out, and stoned to death by 50 men and in front of 1,000 spectators. Her crime? She had been aped, and reported the attack.
“[Stoning] is considered a justice system based on hard line and literal interpretations of Sharia law,” noted News.com.au, in reporting the story. “Although there is no mention of stoning in the Koran, supporters argue it is legitimized by the acts and sayings of the prophet Muhammad.”
Legitimized by the Hadith, in other words.
Such brutal punishments of Sharia are widely known — widely practiced. Wide enough, in fact, that even left-leaning media like the Huffington Post can’t ignore its brutality, blasting forth a headline like this: “Who Will Save Amputees of Sharia Law in Nigeria?”
So it’s in this vein that thousands around the country are gathering Saturday for the March Against Sharia. The event, sponsored by the group Act for America, is set for more than two dozen jurisdictions, from New York City to Phoenix to San Bernardino, Calif.
The left and Muslim advocacy groups spin objections to Sharia as rooted in Islamophobia.
But they’re largely silent on the explanation of how America’s concepts of women’s rights — the right to walk in public without a male escort, the right to drive a car, the right to wear clothing of one’s choosing, the right to drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes and so on and so forth — can remain not only available but unpunished under a Sharia system.
They’re largely silent on how gay couples can marry in America — but in Sharia, they’re considered worthy only of death.
They’re largely silent on how thefts in U.S. courts bring fines, community service and jail terms — but severed limbs and amputated body parts by Sharia law.
Too many unanswered questions? Indeed. But on this, the silence speaks volumes. Sharia is completely incompatible with the Constitution and with U.S. freedoms, as forged, interpreted and upheld by our Judeo-Christian founding.
