MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Renovations costing $1 million have been poured into a section of Interstate Park under a new name.
The complex called The Office at Midtown will feature exterior improvements, infrastructure upgrades, enhanced landscaping and a new entrance, the Montgomery Advertiser (https://on.mgmadv.com/2sXVFQL ) reported. The changes to the nearly 200,000-square-foot office park took about a year.
The Miami-based real estate investment firm Larkspur Properties purchased the property in 2016. The development includes garden pavilions, covered patios and outdoor seating areas.
“The property had been neglected in recent years as its prior ownership had faced a variety of non-property related challenges,” Larkspur President David Bernstein said in a statement. “We are overhauling the physical design of the infrastructure to put a modern face on the buildings.”
Rheem recently signed a 10-year lease on a 28,000-square-foot space, and other local, regional and national tenants have space at the office complex.
The leasing is being handled by Montgomery-based Moore Company Realty.
“You can’t beat the location here,” said leasing agent Gene Cody of Moore Company. “We’ve already signed several major tenants and once people get a look at all the improvements, we expect the property to fill up quickly.”
Larkspur describes itself as “a value-oriented investment firm focused on distressed residential and commercial projects.”
