NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - The Massachusetts town where Aaron Hernandez lived is seeking more than $93,000 in unpaid real estate taxes from the late New England Patriots player’s estate.

North Attleborough Treasurer Christopher Sweet tells The Sun Chronicle (https://bit.ly/2rul476 ) the unpaid taxes date to 2014. Hernandez purchased the home in 2012 for $1.3 million. It is currently on the market for that amount.

The home is in tax title status, and a lien must be paid before it can be sold.

Hernandez, who was serving a life sentence for the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, hanged himself in prison in April days after his acquittal in a double slaying.

Lloyd’s mother has filed a wrongful death suit against Hernandez’s estate, and should she win, proceeds from the home’s sale could be used to pay her damages.
