NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) - Long-distance rower Kathleen Saville will talk about her rows across the Atlantic and South Pacific oceans during a free lecture at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
Saville holds two Guinness world records as the first woman to row across the North Atlantic and across two oceans. She is the author of “Rowing for My Life: Two Oceans, Two Lives, One Journey,” published earlier this year.
Saville will discuss the unforeseen challenges she faced over the course of her journey, including being rolled over in the Coral Sea and nearly being run down by a freighter on the Atlantic.
The lecture is schedule for Wednesday evening.
