CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Wyoming teen has pleaded guilty to raping and trying to kill a 4-year-old girl.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2tBvb9p ) Brandtly Bedsaul of Casper pleaded guilty Friday to charges of first-degree sexual assault of a minor and attempted murder as part of a plea agreement.

If a judge agrees to the agreement, Bedsaul would be sentenced to 60 years to life in prison.

Prosecutors dismissed a charge of aggravated assault.

Court records say the victim was among several children attending a gathering in September at the Casper home where Bedsaul lives. The documents say someone noticed she was missing, went outside and saw Bedsaul with his hands around her neck.

Bedsaul was 19 at the time.

He previously pleaded not guilty by reason of mental illness.
