National Rifle Association spokesperson Dana Loesch is on the offensive against Women’s March organizers who will protest outside the gun rights group’s headquarters.
Mrs. Loesch, in an interview Thursday night with Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson to discuss the planned demonstration outside NRA headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, on July 14, said the group, which protested during President Trump’s inauguration, is a “fake feminist” gathering with zero moral authority.
“I’m not going to be lectured to by a ’women’s’ — some women’s — organization, where the where the organizer called for jihad against President Trump just recently while speaking at a pretty extremist conference at which [radical cleric] Anwar al-Awlaki spoke at in 2001,” TheBlaze TV host said, referring to Palestinian activist Linda Sarsour.
Ms. Sarsour recently gave a speech at the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) convention in Chicago in which she called resistance to Mr. Trump a “form of jihad.”
The Women’s March protest against the NRA was itself inspired by an ad calling for citizens to protect themselves against violent anti-Trump “resistance” activists.
“I’m not going to be lectured by some only women organization where they go after people like [human rights activist] Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a female genital mutilation survivor, saying that she needs to be beaten up and have her vagina taken away,” Ms. Loesch added. “So no, I’m not going to be lectured by this fake feminist organization. And, in fact, I dare say that these fake feminists want to see some real women, some empowered women, women who actually support and encourage their viewpoints, they can take a trip to the NRA.”
The Woman’s March event will begin at the NRA’s headquarters and end at the Department of Justice in the nation’s capital.
“The advertisement released by the NRA is a direct attack on people of color, progressives and anyone who exercises their First Amendment right to protest,” Tamika D. Mallory, co-president of Women’s March Inc, wrote in an open letter to the NRA Wednesday night. “At a time when our nation is seeing a rise in racially charged incidents and violence motivated by hate speech, it is unconscionable for a powerful organization like yours to unashamedly peddle an ’us versus them’ narrative. You are calling for our grassroots, nonviolent resistance movement to be met with violence.”
