Jon Stewart will return to on-camera work Friday, as the former “Daily Show” host will co-host “SportsCenter” live from the 2017 Warrior Games in Chicago, along with ESPN anchor Hannah Storm.

The Department of Defense Warrior Games, which began June 30 and will conclude on July 8, feature wounded, ill and injured military service members and veterans competing in various paralympic-style sports. Approximately 265 athletes are participating in the Games, representing the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Special Operations Command, as well as the U.K. Armed Forces and Australian Defence Force.

Stewart, who retired from the “Daily Show” in 2015 and has remained largely off-camera since, has long been a vocal supporter of veterans and the Warrior Games. In an ESPN press release, Storm discussed what it means to her to host “SportsCenter” from the Games as well as work with Stewart.

“Being the daughter of a Marine and having a lot of pride in being from a Marine Corps family, I was so excited when I heard about this event,” she said. “The meaning of this competition, and how inspirational it is, is really close to my heart.”

“It’s a thrill for me not just to be a part of the Warrior Games but also to work with someone who’s one of the best-known hosts in the television industry and such a great talent. I’ve always been a fan of his work, and he’s so involved and so passionate about this cause.”

The one-hour edition of “SportsCenter” anchored by Stewart and Storm will air on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET, live from United Center in Chicago.
