WASHINGTON (AP) - The Atlanta Braves have recalled right-handed reliever Akeel Morris from Triple-A Gwinnett before their series opener against the Washington Nationals.

The Braves also optioned right-hander Matt Wisler to Gwinnett on Thursday, one day after calling him up. Wisler, who is 0-1 with a 7.41 ERA in eight games, gave up three runs in two innings in a 10-4 loss to the Astros on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old Morris last pitched in the majors for the New York Mets in 2015. He went 0-2 with a 2.73 ERA in 20 games for Gwinnett this season.
