INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Gov. Eric Holcomb is appointing LaPorte Mayor Blair Milo to a position that he says will make her Indiana’s “chief talent recruitment officer.”
Holcomb said Thursday that Milo will hold the newly created position of “secretary of career connections and talent” for the state. Part of her duties will include overseeing the state’s Personnel Department.
Holcomb has yet to name a replacement for Brandye Hendrickson, who left her post leading the state’s personnel agency last week to take a job in President Donald Trump’s administration.
Holcomb says Milo also will work to help make sure job seekers have the right training to meet the needs of employers.
Milo says she’ll resign as mayor of LaPorte, in northwestern Indiana, before starting her new job on Aug. 14.
