LAS VEGAS (AP) - A suspected bank robber has been arrested in Las Vegas after police say he held up a credit union at gunpoint and took three people as hostages.

Police said Wednesday the bank teller and two other people taken hostage during a car-jacking are safe.

The suspect identified as William Ethridge was taken into custody Tuesday night.

Officer Jay Rivera told KLAS-TV (https://tinyurl.com/ydgfqad2 ) Ethridge allegedly robbed the West Star Federal Credit Union on East Harmon Avenue at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.

He says Ethridge took a teller hostage and left the bank before carjacking a vehicle with two other people inside.

He allegedly fled the area with all three before they dropped him off at a Harley Davidson dealership near the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign. The hostages then pulled over at a nearby gas station and called 911.
