NORTH WEBSTER, Ind. (AP) - The National Weather Service says a weak tornado caused minor damage in northern Indiana’s White County.
The weather service says the EF-0 tornado with peak winds of 85 mph was on the ground for about eight minutes Sunday afternoon, traveling about 1.8 miles near the towns of Idaville and Burnettsville, about 75 miles (120 kilometers) northwest of Indianapolis.
The weather service said Monday that the twister with a maximum width of 50 yards tossed a porch to the other side of a house and lifted the rood of the same home about 3 feet before setting it back down. It also damaged a cornfield, tore some shingles from another home and damaged a garage.
