SOUTHPORT, England (AP) - A glance at the final round Sunday of the British Open at Royal Birkdale.

WINNER: Jordan Spieth, who shot a 1-under 69 for a 12-under 268 total and a three-stroke victory over Matt Kuchar.

HOW MANY: Spieth won his first British Open title, and his third major championship.

HOW: Kuchar had a one-stroke lead on No. 14 before Spieth went birdie-eagle-birdie-birdie.

SHOT OF THE DAY: Spieth’s 6-iron that almost went in on the par-3 14th.

SHOT OF THE DAY 2: Spieth’s 50-foot putt for eagle on No. 15.

KEY STAT: In the 10 British Opens held at Royal Birkdale, Spieth is the only player to shoot four rounds in 60s.

NOTEWORTHY: Spieth joined Jack Nicklaus and Gene Sarazen as the only players to win three majors at 23 or younger.

QUOTEWORTHY: “Today took as much out of me as any day that I’ve ever played golf.” - Spieth.

NEXT YEAR: The Open will be played next year at Carnoustie in Scotland.
