GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Two people are in critical condition and a third released from a South Carolina hospital after a knife attack in downtown Greenville.
Police on Sunday charged 28-year-old Eric Roth of Simpsonville and his 51-year-old father Russell Roth of Salisbury, North Carolina. Greenville police spokesman Johnathan Bragg said both men are charged with three counts of attempted murder.
Bragg says Greenville police called to the scene reported all three victims suffered knife wounds to their torsos or chests.
Investigators are trying to piece together what caused the violence. One of the suspects suffered severe injuries to his own fingers during the attack.
Greenville sheriff’s officials say at about the same time deputies responding to a complaint about a loud party were fired on and their vehicle’s rear window shot out.
