SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah’s unemployment rate grew in June to 3.4 percent, two-tenths of a percentage point higher than the previous month.

The state Department of Workforce Services announced Friday that about 53,000 Utah residents were out of work and unemployed last month but seeking work.

The national unemployment rate also climbed slightly in June, up one-tenth of a percentage point to 4.4 percent.
