PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The owner of a mill building where a body was found in a decades-old slaying involving New England’s former mob boss has been sentenced to probation on gun- and drug-related charges.
The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2uJAUMQ ) that 70-year-old William Ricci was sentenced on Friday in U.S. District Court in Providence to three years’ probation.
Ricci was not charged in connection with last year’s discovery of the remains of former Boston nightclub owner Steven DiSarro.
A member of the New England Mafia, Robert DeLuca, has pleaded guilty to charges he lied to authorities investigating DiSarro’s killing.
DeLuca told investigators he helped former mob boss Francis “Cadillac Frank” Salemme (sah-LEHM’-ee) dispose of DiSarro’s body. Salemme and another man have pleaded not guilty in DiSarro’s 1993 killing.
