LINCOLN, Maine (AP) - Police say a 22-hour standoff in Lincoln, Maine, is over because of the surrender of a man who was wanted on charges of sexual assault.

WMTW-TV (https://bit.ly/2vcWbfS ) reports officers responded to William Bradbury’s home at noon on Monday because he was wanted on charges including sexual abuse of a minor. An armed standoff resulted that lasted until Tuesday morning.

Police say Bradbury will also be charged with creating a police standoff. It wasn’t immediately clear if Bradbury had an attorney.

The standoff closed down Route 2 in Lincoln.
