SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - Police say a man shot by federal agents in San Bernardino suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
The Press-Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/2tR11AP ) the man was shot Wednesday by two agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Spokeswoman for the ATF’s Los Angeles office Ginger L. Colbrun said in a written statement the agents were “conducting an operation to address firearms violence.”
Police said in a news release they were part of a task force that also includes officers from the San Bernardino Police Department.
The Police Department will be conducting the investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
Neither police nor the ATF would say what specifically led to the agents firing shots.
