Kid Rock may be running for the Senate — or not.

Right now, it’s difficult to know whether his recent tweet about a website “kidrockforsenate.com” is more publicity than serious political. He says it is. And who knows — it very well could be. After all, Al Franken of “Saturday Night Live” fame made it.

Either way, Kid Rock should go for it — and not simply because he’s a conservative. He really needs to blast his hit “American Bad Ass” on the campaign trail. We all really need to hear that.

But think about it from the pragmatic for a second.

He won’t have to worry about musical artists complaining about using his songs on the campaign trail. He won’t have to deal with the headaches of media tongue-waggers who titter away about the bands who outright refuse to play at his fundraisers.

He can just play his own stuff.

It’s like it’s fated.

Kid Rock for Senate? Yes indeed. Kid Rock for Senate — Robert James Ritchie Jr., in the house.

“I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real … kidrockforsenate.com,” he tweeted. “The answer is an absolute YES.”

The guy’s a Trump man — he supported President Donald Trump’s candidacy and later, alongside Sarah Palin and Ted Nugent, visited the White House. He’s expressed interest in politics on previous occasions. And he’s creating a buzz early in the game.

When asked if the merchandise for sale on the web page was raising money for a campaign, a spokesman for Kid Rock said to Vanity Fair keep an eye on Facebook — that there will be “More soon!”

Debbie Stabenow would be his Democratic contender, if he made it that far. And she’s been in office for a while but even she wouldn’t be able to compete with slogans like these, from Kid Rock’s webpage: Kid Rock, “Are You Scared?” Kid Rock, “Party to the People.” Kid Rock, “I’ll Rock the Party.” Kid Rock, “Pimp of the Nation.” And, a personal favorite, Kid Rock, “In Rock We Trust.”
