SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah police say no one was hurt after a state employee accidentally fired a handgun inside the state attorney general’s office.

Detective Rob Ungricht told The Salt Lake Tribune (https://bit.ly/2tQgtvb) that the female employee involved in the Wednesday incident is a concealed carry permit holder.

According to Lt. Robin Heiden, the female gun owner was in the Attorney General’s Office when she failed to clear the chamber and the gun went off. The gun fired a bullet into the ground and a nearby box.

Heiden says the Attorney General’s Office will be conducting an investigation into the incident.
