LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) - A national law firm is investigating accusations that male Longmont City Council members have harassed female council members.

The Daily Times-Call reported (https://bit.ly/2t4Nvun ) Tuesday that attorney Laurie Rust has asked multiple councilmembers to be interviewed as part of the investigation.

Rust said to Councilwoman Joan Peck in an email that the city of Longmont has engaged her firm “to conduct an impartial, thorough, and prompt inquiry regarding allegations of harassment against female city council members by male city council members.”

City Attorney Eugene Mei declined to comment or answer questions about the situation on Tuesday night.

City Manager Harold Dominguez and Mayor Dennis Coombs also declined comment on Tuesday night.

Several other council members said in brief interviews that they weren’t aware of the allegations.
