CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Little growth has occurred overnight on wildfire burning in southeast Wyoming.
What growth did occur on the fire burning in the Keystone area of Medicine Bow National Forest between Centennial and the Colorado line was from burnout operations initiated on Sunday.
The fire that began last week has burned about 3 square miles (8 square kilometers) of mostly beetle killed trees. About 3 percent of the fire is contained. More resources are being brought in to help battle it and protect cabins in the area.
The fire has evacuated the communities of Keystone, Rambler, Lake Creek and Moores Gulch and closed nearby camping areas in the forest
Monday’s forecast was for a good chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.
