DALLAS (AP) - A Dallas County prosecutor has been suspended without pay while a drunken-driving charge against her is investigated.
The Dallas Morning News reports Assistant District Attorney Leah Lucius was charged after a car she was driving crashed into a tree and a fence less than a mile from her home.
According to a police affidavit, officers arrived at the crash site about 12:30 a.m. Saturday to find Lucius and her car, which had its windshield broken and a front tire torn off.
Lucius told officers she’d had two glasses of wine over five hours and veered off the road when another driver cut in front of her.
She declined to undergo field sobriety tests, asking one officer to give her a break because they were Facebook friends.
